We’re delighted to announce that James Omond has joined By George Legal.

James is widely recognised as one of Australia’s leading lawyers in the alcoholic beverages industry, with significant experience as a commercial and specialist IP lawyer.

For the last 20 years, James ran his own IP and commercial practice, Omond & Co. His client list includes some of the world’s largest alcohol brands such as Chivas, Absolut, Mumm and Beefeater. He also acts for Stone & Wood, fintech company ZipMoney and trading platform Superhero.

James started his career as a commercial lawyer at Baker McKenzie. He spent a decade working in-house for two listed companies, and it was during his time in-house that James developed his IP specialisation. James is a registered Trade Marks Attorney and holds a Master of Laws and Grad Dip in IP Law.

We’re delighted to have James on board. James’ extensive commercial expertise and deep knowledge of the alcoholic beverages industry complements the great work that we are already doing in this space.

We’ve always known that we can offer better value to clients by providing specialist IP services through a nimble practice. We’re rapt that James thinks so too.
